Band Stand at
The War Memorial Park
Warwick, United Kingdom | 2015
The War Memorial Park is very popular with the public. It is a place of family recreation, it hosts sports events and sometimes festivals, but it is also a place of dignified remembrance. Our concept for the bandstand was taken way back to 1930s and was inspired by the first British jet fighter and the Allies' only operational jet aircraft during the Second World War. E.28/39 is one of the aircraft to test on the Frank Whittle's turbojet designs in flight.
By using the Trajectory path of a pre-flight aircraft for the design it gave a smoother curve back for the design, and it supports by the two points which will drill into the ground in order to set the shape and forms a nice curve line. Sir Frank Whittle is now being memorial in several places in UK especially in Coventry where his birthplace was and noticed the "Whittle Arch" situated outside the Coventry Transport Museum and a statue of Whittle is also situated under the Whittle Arch, It shows Whittle looking towards the sky observing the first test flight of E.28/39 aircraft.
